In an informal reading/discussion group meeting, Miguel de Carvalho discussed how novel statistical methods of extreme value theory suggest that although the average human life span may be increasing, the upper end point of the distribution has not been changing over time; the study is based on 30 years of data from Statistics Netherlands (CBS).
