Simon Wood presented a plenary lecture at the SIAM Uncertainty Quantification conference

Simon Wood was invited to present a plenary lecture on inference with Covid models at the SIAM Uncertainty Quantification conference 2022, which took place in Atlanta in April.

His talk was entitled: 'Structural Uncertainty Matters: How Strong Modelling Assumptions Misled on the Role of Lockdowns in the UK Covid-19 Epidemic' and focused particularly on work in two papers in Biometrics and PLoS1 (links below) as well as results from the ONS and REACT-2 statistical surveillance surveys.
