The competition challenged participants to explore the societal impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic other than its direct health outcomes. The winning projects ranged from analysis of Google search surges during COVID-19; an investigation into internet access for remote education in the US; global geographical differences in COVID-19 "interest and awareness"; and a look into the relationship between Singapore's COVID-19 measures and an outbreak of the dengue virus.
